this straightening iron is great. it makes your hair straight without weighing it down. the iron doesn't have different temperature settings, which i think is the downfall. this is apparently to protect the hair against damage, but in my opinion, sometimes you just need the heat options.

The ghd is used in salons world wide and worth every penny. Heats to max in less than 10 seconds and makes hair smooth and shiny no matter what you want to do. Easy to create curl or for pin straight styles. If done in proper sections will straighten the most coarse of hair without touch ups for days. If used with ghd hair products, or regular conditioning treatments, the heat styling creates even more shine and less stress to the hair.

I have very long, bone straight, fine hair and have never owned a straightener before - I've never really needed one. I bought this for its ability to curl and I am COMPLETELY satisfied, in that regard. I've tried everything - curling irons, rollers, snap bands you roll you hair up in and sleep with. Nothing really looked as great as I wished it did, and NOTHING would actually stay in my hair the full day. Except for GHD. It takes a little practice, but once you have the technique down, it's absolutely amazing. Curls, volume (which is great for fine hair), and the waves I can make are to die for - it's fantastically versatile. I've never received so many compliments on my hair.

Love this iron, I have big fuzzy hair. It isn't curly - it's fuzzy and nothing has tamed my hair like this iron. I love that it heats to the perfect temperature to smooth my hair in seconds. I never smell that funny burning hair smell or see smoke when I use this iron. I have had several other irons, that my hair stylists sold me...for equal to or more money and nothing can compare to the GHD! I am taking it to my hair stylists next visit to show her....

I absolutely LOVED this straightener! The first time I used it, I noticed a huge difference.
